Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini
Makes: 1 cocktail
Ingredients
- Raw sugar for rim
- 14 blueberries
- 2 ounces vodka of choice
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- 1 ounce simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, cooked into a syrup and then cooled)
- 1-2 drops of blue curacao
Directions
- Rub a lemon wedge over the rim of a martini glass and dip in raw sugar to create a sugar rim. Add 2 blueberries to the glass and set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle 12 remaining blueberries. Add ice, vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and blue curacao (if using); shake and then strain into the martini glass (use a small fine mesh sieve to remove all the blueberry skins and seeds). Serve immediately.
Infusion
Using a vacuum seal bag, combine 2 pints blueberries with 4 cups of vodka and 8 lemon slices. Vacuum seal and leave in the refrigerator to infuse for up to 1 month. Strain and use vodka in this recipe as instructed above. Save blueberries and lemon slices that were infused to either muddle as instructed or garnish the cocktail.
