Roebling’s First Cocktail
ROEBLING’S FIRST COCKTAIL:
• 2 ounce New Riff Straight Bourbon Whiskey
• 1 ounce lemon juice
• 1 ounce simple syrup
Garnish: Float mulled wine, sugared black grape, rosemary
MULLED WINE INGREDIENTS:
• 1 bottle (750ml) Cabernet Sauvignon
• 10 whole cloves
• 6 star anise
• 6 cardamom pods, crushed
• 6 cinnamon sticks
• 1 – 2 pieces peeled fresh ginger
• Peel from one orange
• ½ – 1 cup sugar
• Apple slices
• Fresh cranberries
MULLED WINE DIRECTIONS:
Heat all the ingredients in a large saucepan until steaming hot. (Do not boil.) Stir and taste. Add more sugar or more wine to taste. Serve warm.
